On the first Tuesday of each month, volunteers gather at our office in McDonough, Georgia, to help with various needs between 9:00am and 3:00pm. If this time is not convenient for you, email info@rachelsgift.org to schedule a time that is!
Activities usually include: organizing donations received, making boxes for hospitals, preparing nurse training materials, preparing miscarriage cards for Emergency Departments / Surgical Centers, and preparing for special events. Nursing students are welcome to join us to add to their service and outreach hours. The Angel Dash held across the country during October, began as a memorial for families to walk or run in memory of their babies. A place for families to come alongside each other on a common journey and build community, supporting and encouraging each other as only those who have lost a baby can.
It also serves as a fundraiser for those who want to reach out and help families in their time of crisis and provide the support and resources they need to begin their journey in the most emotionally healthy way possible.
We can always use the extra helping hands to ensure things run smoothly and attendees enjoy themselves.
Rachel's Gift would like to utilize your photography or videography talents at our events. Any materials you provide us will be used for marketing purposes and may be posted on our website and social media pages. If you would like to volunteer your talents at one of our upcoming events, please email us at info@rachelsgift.org.
Knitting and crocheting volunteers play a vital role in bringing compassion and support to bereaved moms and families. Blankets donated to Rachel’s Gift are gifted directly to the bedsides of grieving mothers.
Your handmade blankets will forever be treasured keepsakes to parents whose children were in their arms for only a matter of moments.

As part of our Burial Gown Program, our volunteers transform donated materials into burial gowns for angel babies. We are currently in need of more volunteer seamstresses or tailors to make the program a reality.
-
For another part of our Keepsake Box Program, we accept donated handmade tiny diapers and hats. We anticipate a need for at least 4,000 diapers in 2024. We find ourselves in constant need of small diapers.
If you are interested in using your talents for any of the items listed, please review the patterns and guides above in the Sewing Patterns section and kindly let us know.
