1st Quarter 2020 News & updates

Through the continued support of our generous donors, we have experienced incredible growth in the past few months! We appreciate the support so very much and when big things happen, we want to make sure the entire Rachel's Gift Community knows about them.

Since our last update (sorry, it's been awhile!) we have increased our support groups from 7 to 11 locations:

Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL (to begin in April 2020)
Bayfront Health Spring Hill in Spring Hill, FL
Emory Decatur Hospital in Decatur, GA
Memorial Hospital Pembroke in Pembroke Pines, FL
Mercy Health West Hospital in Cincinnati, OH
Piedmont Fayette in Fayetteville, GA
Piedmont Henry in Stockbridge, GA
Piedmont Rockdale in Conyers, GA
WellStar Kennestone in Marietta, GA
Wilson Health Family Birth Center in Sidney, OH
Women’s Health Center at WellStar WGMC in LaGrange, GA

Our training course is now nationally accredited so any nurse in the United States can take our course and receive continuing education credits. We have trained over 3,900 nurses to date. That is over 15,600 hours of continuing education credit given!

Rachel’s Gift is in 6 states - Ohio, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania along with our longtime partnerships in Virginia, Georgia, and Florida. Our newest partners are Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL; Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, GA; Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon, GA; Bayfront Health Spring Hill in Spring Hill, FL; and University Health St. John Medical Center in Westlake, OH.

We have increased our fundraising to keep up with the demand for our services. Here is a list of the 2020 events benefiting Rachel’s Gift:

Saturday, May 2nd is Derby Day in partnership with Henry County Cancer Services. This is an established event with a live stream of the Kentucky Derby. There will be games, prizes, food by Quinn’s Catering, and lots of auction items. Come pick a winner and join us in the excitement of cheering on your horse in the hopes of winning something big! Additional event details and webpage are forthcoming.

Friday, May 15th is our Inaugural Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club in Hampton, GA. Team prizes, give aways, and some auction item will be there to be had! To register, visit rachelsgift/golf.

Saturday, October 3rd is Family Fun Day at Southern Belle Farm. Come out for pumpkin season in the beautiful fall weather! If a visit to the farm is in your family’s future plans, please consider purchasing your tickets online through us so that Rachel’s Gift receives 100% of the ticket price on that day. Webpage for ticket orders is forthcoming in Summer 2020.

Saturday, October 17th is the 10th Anniversary Angel Dash - our largest fundraiser of the year, and this year is the 10th anniversary of this event! Last year we opened 4 additional satellite locations and are planning even more this year. I sincerely hope you are able to join us either in person or in spirit. For a variety of ways you can participate, locally or from where you are, please contact us for details. We would love your support in helping us achieve our goal for this event. Registration will open at angeldash.org in Summer 2020.

As always, we encourage you to connect with us on whatever social media platform you are on. We constantly share updates on our growth, our community, and any news that is relevant to our mission. Our number one goal on social media is to listen to those we serve and support and care for them through their loss journey the best we can. You can hear from some of the very people directly touched by your support and donations through our social media channels.

In saying all of this, our supporters have been very faithful to us. We actively seek all forms of financial assistance so that we are not reliant on any one group of people. We receive support from many of our hospitals, fundraisers we execute, foundation grants, community groups, churches, and individuals. We deeply appreciate your partnership and support, and recognize it as part of the reason we have been able to grow!
